Oh my! We have been the busiest we have ever been this fall, which we couldn't be more excited about. With many changes happening for Tandem Studios, we have found our way back to the blogosphere and we're going to go back to Becca and Steve's August 23rd wedding.
Becca and Steve got in touch with us in June and asked us to photograph their vintage/rustic camp wedding in August. New to the wedding world, we were elated that they had chosen us to capture their wedding. Becca and Steve live in Cape Cod with their son, Lucas, so we didn't meet them until the eve of their wedding as we went to the site to check things out. We couldn't wait to photograph their Camp Laughing Loon wedding in East Waterboro. Immediately, as we walked in to the laid back preparations that night, we could tell it was going to be a pretty special wedding. Not to mention that Becca and Steve were laid back and pretty darn special themselves.
Along with our second shooter (and third sister) Elissa, we had a perfect day to capture the day as it unfolded. Becca and Steve had an amazing group of family and friends there to celebrate their wedding. With wood-fired pizza, a bluegrass band, cigars, a few kegs, and too many awesome desserts to count, the Westgates sure picked the perfect day for a wedding. Guests got down to the bluegrass tunes of Four Bridges, enjoyed a whoopie pie or two on the porch, and dipped their toes in the cool water as they relaxed on the dock of Little Ossipee.
Our favorite moment was by far the very end of the night when pretty much everyone had left except the newlyweds, their son, and a couple of close friends. The band set-up out on the covered porch and Becca, Steve, and Lucas danced together as their friends looked on. It's one of those real moments you just can't stage. We will not soon forget the feeling of connectedness and love that was shared in that time. Aren't those the moments we live for?
