We began documenting Emilie + Mark's wedding day in the midst of the girls relaxing together and having their hair and make-up done. And yes, we used the word, relax, because we swear Emilie and Mark really were relaxed all dang day. Their year's worth of planning all came together on that early August day and the newlyweds just had fun and enjoyed those first hours as Mr. and Mrs. Cloutier.
The ceremony and reception took place on family property on Pushaw Lake, which made it all the more special. Rain threatened to come down just as the ceremony began, but only a few drops fell and we were able to hop on the family pontoon and head out onto the lake for photos with Emilie, Mark, and their wedding party.
Somehow, all of us managed to fit on the boat with Mark's dad as captain, taking us to a small island on the other side of the lake. Not only did he drive us all out to the island, but Mark's dad also drove the boat around the island several times, so that Lindsey could capture shots of the entire wedding party. It was like he knew exactly where we needed to be and like magic, we captured all of the shots of the wedding party from the boat. Hands down a once-in-a-career moment there and it went off without a hitch.
The reception was a party to say the least. The dance floor was packed, the speeches hilarious, and the food incredible.
And of course, a summer wedding on a lake in Maine wouldn't be complete without a fireworks show to end the night.
