Let's take a step back into summer and talk about Heather and Dave's Colby College nuptials!
First of all, if you aren't familiar with the Colby College campus in Waterville, Maine then we suggest taking a visit. Located on the outskirts of town, the Georgian Revival campus buildings and open green space make it an iconically New England college campus. The incredible Lorimer Chapel where Heather and Dave had their ceremony was the first building on the "new campus" built in 1937.
But enough about architecture.
Heather and Dave met while students at Colby, so getting married where they fell in love with one another was pretty much the perfect spot for their wedding. It was a cloudy mid-August day with a threat of rain. Thankfully, it held off so Heather, Dave, and the wedding party could have their photos outdoors with the campus buildings as a backdrop.
Lorimer Chapel was a beautiful and meaningful place for the two to say their vows. The simple and bright yet historical chapel saw the gathering of several family members and friends and Dave's uncle as the officiant.
The reception took place at Foss Hall and had plenty of space for the massive amounts of dancing that went on later in the night. The Bob Charest Band really brought things alive that night and it was tough to leave that party.
Did I mention that instead of cake, Heather and Dave had GIANT whoopie pies for dessert?? It was pretty much our dream.
