As much as we love summer and fall weddings in Maine, there is something very special about a late winter wedding in Maine. And that wedding was Sam & Bill's downtown Portland nuptials.
The air was crisp and cold the morning of their wedding day, with the overcast gray that we love just as much as the orange glow of a late summer sunset. Sam and Bill said their vows at St. Dominic Church in the West End - a stunning Catholic church designed in a grand European style. Coupled with the beauty of these two (not to mention Sam's stunning two-piece dress and vintage necklace), their ceremony could not have been more perfect.
The reception was only a short walk away at the Top of the East in the Westin. As their guests ate a super delicious brunch, the clouds cleared to bring us sun and warmth on the top floor overlooking the city. And can we just mention how amazing brunch receptions are? Blueberry pancakes?! Yes, please!
The midday sun lit a spark under everyone's feet and the dance floor was packed all afternoon.
Sam & Bill are two of the most genuinely kind people we have had the honor of knowing and feel so incredibly fortunate to have been able to document their incredibly beautiful and meaningful wedding day. The love they have for one another is a true and beaming love that is just darn right contagious.
